Let’s fix your s%*!!y guitar.

Matt Besser has been playing and tinkering with guitars since 1973. He spent his first professional career as an engineer. After retirement in 2024 he went back to school, attending the nation’s premier lutherie program at Minnesota State College Southeast. He received his certification in the spring of 2025, marking the end of tinkering and the beginning of professional lutherie.

He loves to take that crappy guitar you found at a garage sale or in a lonely corner of your parent’s basement and transform it into an instrument you’ll love to play.

You can find Matt at his home workshop in Kenyon, MN on the Zumbro River, an hour south of the Twin Cities and 45 minutes north of Rochester. It’s a beautiful drive through rolling hills, but don’t worry: pick up and delivery within the Metro area and Southeastern Minnesota are an option if you can’t make it yourself.
